Tampons
This is my second time getting my period and the first time i wore a pad to gymnastics and it was uncomfortable, and this time im going to wear a tampon should i wear my underwear underneath the leotard just in case or do u think i'll be safe

just put a pantyliner on your leotard, just for a back up when wearing a tampon :)
and also if you are super heavy, take ibuprofen (about 800 mg)and it thins your blood so your flow is not so heavy! and it also helps with cramps!

There are things called panitliners and they protect you from any leakage, you can attach them to your leotard or to your underwear it will work both ways. Hope i helped =]

I'd go with both (including a panty liner or pad) until you are more experienced and sure you can go without the underwear. Better to be overprotected than under prepared.
