Is my boyfriend ashamed of me?
Hi! so im 16 years old and ive been with my boyfriend for 4 months. ive met his parents multiple times but i guess ive never really been able to have a long conversation with them and gotten to know them. my boyfriend never introduces me as his girlfriend. today i went to one of his siblings shows and a lot of his close family friends and relatives were there. usually when im with him he will hold my hand or put his arm around me but in front of all his relatives, he didnt even introduce me to them and did not act like we were together at all. sorry that this is really long! another thing is that he never calls me. i know he really likes me and hes so sweet to me but we dont talk or hang out as often as we probably should. if we do hang out its ALWAYS at my house, rarely at his. I feel like hes ashamed or embarassed of me but i really cant figure it out at all, and i dont know what to do or say to him.

anyway, that's kinda strange behavior. but i dont think he's ashamed of you. are you his first [or one of his first] serious relationships? he may just not be used to bringing a girl around his family. if he was ashamed of you, he probably wouldn't invite you there in the first place. he could be afraid his family will purposely pick on him in front of you. my whole family is a bunch of goobers, and that's exactly what they do when my cousins or i or whoever bring a new guy around.. they put them on the spot and embarrass the crap out of us! haha. and there's no number to how many times yall "should" hang out.. you dont wanna hang out too much and get sick of each other! one day when yall plan to hang out, tell him youre bored of your house or your parents are on a cleaning spree or something and ask him if yall could chill at his. start introducing YOURSELF as his girlfriend and be polite. i've been with my boyfriend almost two years, and he still doesn't introduce as his girlfriend.. he doesn't really introduce me at all unless he's asked. it's just a guy thing i think. they're not all charming and stuff as they used to be or as tv and movies portray. ask him if he's uncomfortable bringing you around his family or if he's embarrassed by them. talking is important! good luck girl =]
