Vaginal Infection

Question Posted Wednesday February 25 2009, 4:57 pm

Hello. Recently, I posted a question giving symptoms of what I thought to be a vaginal infection and from the responses that people gave me, I do have one. Is there any way that I can just buy medicine over the counter and not have to go see a doctor? Thanks for the help.

I would really recommend seeing a doctor since I should not suggest diagnosing yourself, to be safe. Nevertheless, to answer your question- there are over the counter options. For example, a popular one is Monistat. It is available in 1 day, 3 day, and 7 day treatments. The 7 day is most likely the safest best because the dosages would be smaller. It is available at most drugstores and Wal-Mart (close by the feminine needs section, where the tampons & such are located). It takes prescription medicine to treat it. I don't think there is anything over the counter you could use.
