Fisheye lenses are wide angle lenses that distort the image so it is curved and the closer the subject to the lens, the larger it appears as compared to farther subjects. In a way it mimics how a fish would view the world when looking through its fishbowl.

There are cheap fisheye cameras:

They add a dramatic effect to the picture. Fisheyes aren't practical for everyday use, but they are fun to whip out every once in a while.
