whats the point??

Question Posted Friday January 30 2009, 4:14 pm

This is really random, but I really need to know, so bear with me. Example: Brad Pitt starring as Benjamin Button (as Brad Pitt). Why do they feel the need to repeat that? Brad Pitt is playing Button, not the other way around, so what's the "as" for? That was just an example by the way. Anyway thanks, that's been driving me crazy.

I know on imdb they put the '(as....)' because the movie credited them under a different name.

Like if Angelina Jolie gets married to Brad Pitt, but the movie has her as Angelina Jolie but imdb changed it to Angelina Jolie-Pitt....so imdb would have it as :
Angelina Jolie-Pitt: [character name](as Angelina Jolie).

Hope i explained it well.
