STUNN3Rxx answered Saturday January 10 2009, 4:02 pm: You probablly sprained your ischium. I cheerlead, and i've actually torn both of mine. The ischium is the muscle that connects your hamstring to your pelvic bone, or the butt region, or inner area of your thigh. There are three types of sprains, moderate, where you feel no pain and the injury doesnt affect you, intermediate, where you feel pain but it will lessen in about 2 weeks, or you have a severe sprain (torn ligiment), this would make it hard to walk and will cause you trumendus pain. A crack or popping noise is heard when dealing with this sprain. You need to ice and use heat on and off for about 4-6 weeks, and during the first 72 hours, walk on crutches. If its been longer than three days since the injury, than simply ice/heat on and off, avoid using stairs, keep your leg elivated, and dont participate in physical activity because your leg wont get any better. Hope i helped. [ STUNN3Rxx's advice column | Ask STUNN3Rxx A Question ]
