First, you must realize that you will always have some sort of odor. It is natural for females to have a bit of an odor down there because your body is constantly cleansing itself. If the odor has recently changed then it could be a sign of a bacterial infection--something only a doctor can determine and supply medication for.

Around the vaginal opening it is normal to have a bit of white goo. This white stuff is actually your natural lubrication--only dried up a little bit. It's commonly referred to as smegma. There is no problem with having a little bit of this but if it appears on your panties in excess and looks similar to cottage cheese then you should see a doctor. The way to "remove" the smegma is to take a washcloth while in the shower or bathtub, soak it, and lightly wipe the inside of your vaginal "lips" a few times. NEVER use soap.

Some light itching is usually no big deal but if it seems abnormal then, again, it could be a bad sign of an infection. If it itched a lot or burned then it isn't normal.

Your vaginal area should not feel dry. I am concerned about this because it isn't natural, really. If you are on hormonal birth control pills then that could be an issue that you would need to speak to your doctor about. They now make lubrication capsules to insert into the vagina when this sort of thing happens, but it is always best to speak to a doctor about this sort of problem before seeking such methods. It's okay to put water on your vaginal area, but it likely isn't going to make it all better from being dry.

Make sure you're hydrated. Drink a lot of WATER. Try to drink at least 6 glasses of water a day, hopefully 8 if you can do it. You can also drink other things but remember that they do NOT count as water.

I suggest seeing a doctor to make sure everything is healthy. Even if you're not sexually active, you can definately develop an infection. If you have never been to the doctor for this sort of thing remember that there is no reason to feel embarrassed. You are taking care of your body by seeing a doctor and there is absolutely no shame in that.

Please, see a professional to ensure your health. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me! I apologize for the response wait but I have been very, very busy at work lately. You can ask whatever, whenever to me and I PROMISE I WILL answer it--in time.
