hi! :) i've read something you've answered about discharge and i do have a question...
so i know you said DONT wear a tampon because your discharge is alot or whatever, but it's like im addicted to using them? okay that might sound over the top but i've went to the doctor twice because my discharge is so heavy, all the time! so recently my doctor put me on a different birth control maybe thinking that it was the birth control i was on that was causing this. i had to take a break from birth control for a month, so right now i'm not on it but in a couple weeks i will be taking the new one i was prescribed. anyways i still cant NOT wear a tampon. if i try to just wear a pantyliner, without a tampon i'm always so paranoid and i always feel like there is a big amount of discharge and when i go to the bathroom, there is not at much as i thought there was. it's like in my mind or something, that i am having alot when i'm not because i'm so paranoid about it. trust me, i do not want to be wearing a tampon all the time but i dont know what to do!! i cant be worrying about it 24/7 when i'm not wearing a tampon, and i always feel like i have to go to the bathroom to wipe the discharge from my pantyliner. i just hate that feeling!!

There is no way that you're going to discharge so much that a pantyliner is going to be filled to the maximum of it's ability. They are specifically designed for this sort of thing and for light menstrual bleeding. Please, consider using a pantyliner.
Next, STOP USING TAMPONS if you're not on your period. Seriously. Just stop. If you wind up in the hospital because you wore a tampon when you weren't on your period--are you going to be happy? Nope.
Try menstrual cups. They can SAFELY be worn whenever you'd like--up to 14 hours with no known issues. They are not damaging to your body in any way and are reusable so there is no need to continue the purchase of waste products. For some more information on the different kinds of menstrual cups, check out my answer here:
Lastly, realize you're being paranoid and that's your female. Your body is suppose to produce a lot of fluids so that it can stay clean. If you're soaking it all up then your body must produce more and more to try to clean the bad stuff out. It's in times like these you need to decide what is more important in your life:
1. FEELING better because you FEEL like you're not leaking onto yourself.
or
2. BEING healthy and living to see another day.
If you are wearing tampons when you're not on your period you are also increasing chances of cancer (information from my first gynecologist and studies that are reporting increased cancerous cells when using bleached feminine products inside of the vaginal canal). You are putting yourself at risk for serious, serious injuries. You are harming yourself more than doing any good at all.
Addictive? Absolutely. Listen to yourself. You are well-aware that this activity is highly dangerous but you do it anyway. You are well-aware that you could just use a pantyliner or a pad but you don't want to for no real reason.
Please, find another method to solving this issue. Please don't keep shoving these products inside your sensitive areas each and every single day for mental relief. I don't want to see you hurt because you were paranoid. Please, find another way.
If you have any more questions please feel free to ask me. You can always ask me questions, but I am sorry for slow responses--I WILL get to you, in time. [ Peeps's advice column | Ask Peeps A Question ]
