i dont know about that curler, but i own a jilbere curling iron it is a limited edition purple one and it works fine on my hair, i have pin straight hair, and it curls fine, the temptures get really hot for difficult hair and low temptures for easy to style hair too. i dont know about helen of troy. but jilbere is a great brand.

i have no complaints about my curling iron.
