Watching a fight illegal?

Question Posted Tuesday November 25 2008, 9:34 pm

Is watching a fight in a public place illegal? Such as some guys fighting at the bowling alley and then getting caught by the police, would the bystanders get in trouble? Many thanks if you answer.

well, where I live you CAN get into trouble. They say that instead of watching you should be trying to stop it, in whatever way. But at a place like school I haven't heard of anyone watching getting into trouble for it

Why would an innocent bystander get in trouble?
The fighters- Yes, I can see them getting in trouble for fighting, especially inside a private establishment such as a bowling alley.

Say you are bowling and a couple of guys get into a fight. Is it your fault they're doing it and you happen to be there? No. Is it your fault that it's human nature to be a lookie-loo when such things happen? No.
So where is the crime in that?
As far as I know, there isn't.

I could be wrong, but I've honestly never heard of such a thing.
