17th birthday partyyy

Question Posted Sunday October 26 2008, 12:32 pm

soo my birthday is in december and i'm turning 17. i'm planning to invite somewhere between 30-40 people, so it has to be awesome. i was thinking of having a glow themed party so in my basement i'll have glow sticks, glow balloons, possibly glow cups, glow ice cubes etc. any other ideas? and if i can't get the cups i'll have neon colored plates and stuff. so then for food, to keep the costs down, i'll have my mom make a whole bunch of ziti and then get chips and soda and stuff. any other ideas for food [cause not everyone will like ziti]? then people will be dancing and stuff in the basement, but i'll have a movie playing upstairs but idk how to decorate the upstairss.. any suggestions on anything?

order a few pizzas before everyone comes, have the ziti ready, get a few bottles of soda and some water bottles (people will be hot from dancing) and then maybe get a pitcher of water to put down in the basement. along with the cups, napkins, and plates, just get a few bags of different kinds of chips. that's a good enough of a variety of food and it's not too expensive. make your invitations formal (but not cheesy) so people will take the party seriously and know that they should bring a present and not invite other people to come or bring alcohol. unless you want that but then that would be a whole different kind of party. do you have a good enough speaker system? make sure you have music that can be loud enough and have a heavy enough bass. i recommend making a party mix on a cd or making a party mix playlist on your ipod of all songs that are good to dance too, so that you won't have to mess around with it while your there and keep chanign the song if something slow comes on. that way you can just let the cd play. oh, and i wouldn't recommend having the upstairs open to people if you are going to have 30-40 people. just make sure that the lights are off, the music is good and loud, and everything is glow in the dark becaues then people will want to dance more. it's not necessary to have a movie playing.
