My computer had crashed about a month ago, and a friend of my mom's took it to his son to get it fixed. I know NOTHING about computers, but I heard something about having to replace the hard-drive. When he brought it back it seemed better, except my volume doesn't work anymore and I no longer have Microsoft Word or any other Microsoft features. It's very vital to me to have these, since I'm assigned endless projects at school. What can I do?
It is pretty much a clone for the MS Office package.
Good luck.
Oh and as for your volume, thats a bit odd. Are you hearing any sound at all? I would guess its driver related.
EDIT: The MS Office package is one of the most common piece of software around. You can buy it in pretty much any computer shop or online. You might be able to find an older version online that is cheaper (I think the 2007 version of Word is kind of horrible... but thats just my opinion).
However, if you once had it, are you sure the CD isnt lying about somewhere in your house? Unless you had someone install an cracked copy, the original should still be there somewhere no? [ Alin75's advice column | Ask Alin75 A Question ]

If you can't find one then I suggest you use a computer at a library or at a friend's house. I hope this helps a bit. [ shelbz7077's advice column | Ask shelbz7077 A Question ]
