I bought a new laptop at the start of the year which has windows vista.
How do I make all my files private so no other users can view my files?

You can't make all of your files automatically become encrypted, though, so it's not a replacement for private files. The file names are also visible to administrators, unlike with private files.

It will create a file on your system that can be mounted as a drive. When mounted, you can put files into it like a regular drive. When unmounted, the files are not accessible. It's impossible to even tell with certainty that a TrueCrypt file is a TrueCrypt file. Contact me if you have trouble setting it up.**
You can't. Standard users can only see their own files, and admins can see everyone's files, even those of other admins. This has been changed since XP because Microsoft wants everyone to use Standard user accounts. There's no way to make files private like in XP. [ theymos's advice column | Ask theymos A Question ]
