texting

Question Posted Wednesday September 24 2008, 9:32 pm

what's a informal way of texting someone that I don't usually talk to but i've hung out with him at parties? i want it to be a cute way of saying like hey what's up but without seeming like i want to desperately talk to him.

Honestly, the best way to ask someone over text what's up is to just say "what's up?"

You think I'm being sarcastic, but I'm being serious. I know if I met someone and I was texting them for the first time, I wouldn't expect much from them other than "hey-what's up?" and the cliche texting conversation.

The more you think about it and overthink it, the more you will mess it up. Just go with "Hey- what's up?" or something simple like that- because the more you try to come up with something not desperate sounding is the moment you'll say something that sounds desperate, if you catch my drift.

Well if he's jokey and so are you, you could send something like ''Whaddup home/dawg :D''
That's something I use when I text someone I don't usually talk to.
Seems to work. :)

Or you could just send something like ''Haven't heard from you a while''
It's not desperate, but it's still casual.
Good luck :)
