Will insurance cover ambulance cost for this reason?

Question Posted Wednesday June 17 2009, 10:19 pm

Will insurance cover ambulance ride if our daughter hurt her back on playground at school and couldnt move? Even tho they thought it could only be a bruised tailbone, our daughter couldnt move and we didnt want to chance moving her if it was worse and we wanted her to lay flat on board without much movement .If we took her in a car or other means she would be sitting in an upright position ,which could make her back even worse.

They, absolutely, will cover it. What if it wasn't just a bruised tailbone? What if it was a broken back? How would you know? That's why you are calling an ambulance! Of course they will cover it.

I would have to say that it depends on the type of insurance you have. I know there there are some insurances that only pay some of the ambulance costs. But if you have a good insurane I'm pretty sure they'll cover it. But then again, it depends on the type of insurance. You should call your insurance and make sure how much do they cover on the ambulance.
