this girl kicked me in the knee and i went to the hospital to get it checked out and its dislocated.....well in going in to high school and because of my knee i have to wear this big ugly thing on my knee it has 9 velcro straps and goes up to the thigh and ends at the ankle. well any ways....this isnt exactly how i imagnied my first day of high school.....and im really self concious about the imobelizer [[the thing around my leg]]....i've never had any kind of injury except ankle sprains so im nervous about what people are gonna say meaning the new cute guys that are their that im not even gonna know......

well my question is, does anyone think i have anything to worry about....im worried that their gonna freak when they see it 'cause i personally dont think cruches and a big ugly thing on your leg is very attrative...does anyone get what im saying....

I tore my ACL the first weekend of my senior year, and I had to wear a similar brace and was on crutches for about three weeks. People will definitely ask you what happened, and once they find out, lots will ask to help you. This could actually be a plus, because guys will admire that you play a sport and a dislocated knee is a pretty big deal. And if any cute guys ask if you need help, take advantage of it. If they carry your bookbag or something, make small talk and get to know them. If you planned on have a girlfriend help you, just tell them you found a cute boy to help (;

Don't be too worried about it! I think that, if anything, your injury will set you away from the crowd. The first day of high school is a day of first impressions, and with your immobolizer, it will probably draw attention to you. Sure, it might not look too attractive, but it might encourage people to talk to you. People could ask you what happened or offer to help. I doubt people will think you're weird just because you had an injury.

A few months ago, I dislocated my knee and had to go to school with a giant cast and crutches. No one made fun of me or thought I was weird. Most of the people seemed genuinely interested in helping me.

Don't let your injury ruin your first day of high school. I suggest that you just be yourself and show everyone that you're not the kind of person who lets something bring them down. I'm sure you'll do fine.

Good luck! =]

i wouldnt worry too much, everyone is nervous the first day of school, and the last thing people will be thinking about "oh that girl has an injury i dont want to hang out with her" its actually a great way to start up a conversation, someone may ask what happend and then the conversation may keep going, and also someone may offer help, or you can ask. Also you would have your friends there to help you out. And the cast will get off one day, and people know that. like i said everyone is nervous the first day, and im sure everything will be okay. just remember to be yourself, friendly, and calm.
hope i helped =]
