re:ear Tapers/plugs

i didnt taper my ears to 16g to 14g. Hottopic didnt have 16g so i just bought the 14g after my 18g piercing and i waited for 2 months and i put the 14g.btw do you need petrolium jelly toput tapers and plugs? how do you put the barbell ones in? cause there was no rubber thing that people said i suppossed to get. i have 14g of this one:

and i use the ear piercing solution from claire's to clean it, can i use the regular salt to clean it? thank you =]

Oh right. Well you can continue cleaning with the stuff you got from claires until it runs out.
Then use the seasalt solution. But if your ears have healed, then you don't need to use the seasalt solution every day. I just suggest cleaning your ears once a month.

Anyway. I looked at the taper + plug set you have. You don't necessarily need jelly but you can use it if it makes things easier.
So you've put in the taper to the end, it will be easier if you push the taper from front to back (so the taper sticks out to the back) and then put the plug against the taper and keep pushing, so the taper will fall out and the plug will be in place of it instead.

The thing is though that you need the O-rings to keep the plug in place. If you don't have them the plug will start falling out...

Also in the future, don't skip gauges. This can rip your ear, cause blowouts and in the future it will be hard to stretch your ear if you do want to do that.
