The problem is this: He was an author, and yet I am looking for an autographed PHOTO! If he was an actor from those years, there should be photos everywhere... but authors only sign books it seems, and Jeffery Farnol was apparently no exception. :-(
Can anyone help me? Is there such a thing out there? I would like my Jeffery Farnol gift to be the best and rarest Jeffery Farnol work, or an autographed/somehow signed Jeffery Farnol photograph, lithograph, well anything but a book if I can help it!
"Hi,
Would anyone care to make an offer for this?
I'm the manager of the Oxfam Books & Music shop at Westbury On Trym, Bristol, England. I've just been looking at a donated copy of a 1910, American-published book called 'Red Letter Days Of Samuel Pepys', in which I've found a sepia portrait photo/postcard, which is inscribed "Yours sincerely Jeffery Farnol, 1927".
Googling, I found the JFAS & confirmed from pictures posted that it is of JF (as the name is not absolutely clear). The studio impress is Raphael, 1 Wilton place, Knightsbridge, SW1.
I don't think the book has any connection with the picture, but was merely being bookmarked. The book has a signature, which may be Eugene E. something, dated '11; and a plate: 'The Family Le Vino Their Book'.
Let me know if the book arouses any interest!
I think it's reasonably fair that I won't let it go to the first offer, but will hold it & see how things develop. I will contact anyone who wishes, to let them know if an offer made has been surpassed. I think, as we're in the holiday period now, that I'll say that the best offer by Sept.15th wins!
