Question Posted Wednesday August 13 2008, 11:20 am
I started my period a few days ago. I'm not sure if I just never noticed this before but I weighed myself after I went to the bathroom when I woke up. Then, a few hours later I weighed myself again because I noticed I was gaining weight and I was 2 lbs heavier after eating breakfast. Is this water weight associated with my period? I don't think I'm eating any more than I usually do. Any suggestions?
when you weigh yourself, calculate it doing a +/- 5 lbs. your weight can shift by upto 5 lbs in water weight.
when you're menstruating, your body gets a little bit more bloated, and because of appetite loss, it sucks up a lott of water. your weight can shift drastically during this period of the month.
honestly, just eat normally. the weight will come off and on during your period. you're not ACTUALLY gaining & losing weight so there's nothing to worry about. [ heybbylovee's advice column | Ask heybbylovee A Question ]
