The Depo Provera shot is supposed to lighten your period. You should exsperience spotting at least once a month. Spotting is basically a little bit of blood but not nessacerally a period. I was on the Depo Provera shot for 4 years and I never really got any spotting either neither a period I saw the doctor and he said it was very normal. Don't panic, Everything is fine. If you want to be reassured just make an appointment with your doctor. ;) If you switch to the pill you should get a period yes, However seeing it is a birth control it won't come so heavy.
