Example:
I went to the mall and looked through all the clothes and what not.
Meaning:
I went to the mall and looked through all the clothes and anything else that was in the store such as shoes and bags.
It's just a phrase people use when they don't
feel like explaining everything haha.

Hmm. Like if I said "I like to eat ice cream, cake, and whatnot."
It basically means "things like what I just said".
So the "whatnot" of ice cream and cake are pie, cookies, etc.
Is that what you mean?
