apartment number

thanks for your help! why cant the apartment number be written in the first address line?

Online, you're supposed to put the apartment number on line two. Probably so their computer systems can understand it better. If you put it on line one, the mail/package will probably still get through.

On real letters, you can do it either way. It doesn't really matter.
