17/f I'm going into my senior year and I want to make a good image for myself. I want to change my wardrobe, which generally consists of t-shirts and bootcut/ flare jeans, along with sneakers or flip-flops. You can see my problem, I think. I want to have a good casual look that is a little dressy, but not over the top (I want to wear my jeans, if possible). I also want to create curves on my thin, rectangular body. I'd like to have a classy look that I can carry over to college. But I want it to be comfortable. Who can help me? Any advice is appreciated. I'm about 5'6, 120 lbs.
Additional info, added Saturday July 26 2008, 4:32 pm: Oh, and I have a fairly long torso with shorter legs. My rear is nearly flat, so I don't like to wear anything that draws attention to that. I also don't feel the need to accentuate my bust, as I am a 32 C. Some things make me look like a rectangle, some make me look unbalanced (small rear, bigger chest). Just help me find something flattering!. Want to answer more questions in the Miscellaneous category? Maybe give some free advice about: Fashion and Styles? ChocolatBeautii answered Tuesday July 29 2008, 1:21 pm: so. it sounds like your style is pretty laid back. you dont really have to change that-just clean it up a lil bit[=
first of all get jeans that have pockets with some design on the butt...i know i know you dont want to draw attention to your rear, but designs on jean pockets give the booty a lil oomph...
also try capris and skirts with or w/out leggings to change up your look...
next, trade those sneakers in for flats! you can get any color and stlye you like, if you wear flip flops, make sure your toenails look cute ang your feet look nice...
if your feeling pretty brave, try some heels...maybe
next, get nice looking tees that hug your bod just enough-but not super tight...you can always layer them over camis or wear them under a cute shrug or jacket...
Sis1234 answered Sunday July 27 2008, 12:35 am: well you can wear jeans with blazer jackets, jean jackets with cute designs and sequins on them, you can wear some skirts every now and then i mean i never wear skirts unless im going somewhere nice but still it never hurts to try it, you can even wear t-shirts that fit your shape that show you have curves.Sometimes when a shirt is on the rack you'll see how it has a hourglass shape to it well those are the ones to get I get tshirts and jeans all the time.I am the same way you are with dressing minus the flip flops.I hope I helped.Let me know if it works out.
beautevil78 answered Saturday July 26 2008, 5:58 pm: i think i can help!! you can definetly wear your jeans with a dress up blouse and some cut off black boots you could also change your hair. now if you want ppl to notice your figure get low cut hip jeans that hug the hips but flare the feet and wear a shirt that is kinda tight but not skin tight like if you wear a shirt that brings out the shape in your chest but it shows to much of your stomach then get it one size bigger and wear a push up bra [ beautevil78's advice column | Ask beautevil78 A Question ]
luewow answered Saturday July 26 2008, 5:02 pm: My friend, it sounds like your body isn't a rectangle, but an inverted triangle.
My friend Briana has a VERY flat butt, and she wears jeans all the time. The problem is, is that the jeans she wears are made for a bigger butt than hers, so she has alot of extra fabric in the butt of her jeans. I don't know if your butt is NEARLY as flat as hers, but if it is I advise you to explore the many brands of jeans out there and find one designed for a smaller caboose. And when that doesn't work out too well, go shopping for butt pads, to make your butt look more shapely.
And as for a more modest bust, I suggest wearing polos and wearing a bit looser t-shirts. You may want to explore casual dresses and skirts, as well.
