After shaving, try applying non-comedogenic lotion to the area. Repeat over the next few days. (I recommend Aveeno... And so does my dermatologist. YAY!!) ]
The best way to avoid the red bumps and irritation is to make sure you have the proper tools for shaving sensitive areas. These include a fair amount of shaving cream, as well as a sharp razor. You may want to start a brand new razor if it is your first time shaving your pubic area. Try shaving with the hairs, meaning in the direction they grow, to lessen the pull and irritation of the skin.
Because the skin is so sensitive in that area, a few bumps may be unavoidable, but follow these guidelines and you should be well off! Just remember, if you decide to keep shaving, it's never as bad as the first time.
Good luck! ]
