okay, i know what it is, but what does S & M actually stand for? x

Sado -
Comes actually from the Marquis de Sade. It DOES NOT mean sexual. Sado is short for sadism which means "deriving pleasure from inflicting pain on others"

Masochism -
Comes from Leopold von Sacher-Masoch. It means "pleasure from receiving pain."
