Heal faster- don't mess with it.
Clean it twice a day, I recommend sea salt water. (Mix sea salt(big grains) with lukewarm water, so it tastes like tears.
Hold a cup of it against your lip piercing for 5 minutes in the morning and in the evening.

I have no idea how you're gonna hide it form your parents...they will most likely notice. I tried to hide mine, but in the end, my parents noticed it, and I messed up the piercing by always trying to hide it.

You can put in a shorter bar when the swelling has gone completely down. A ring, when it's healed.

The best thing to do is not to mess with it (i.e touch it with dirty hands, play with it) don't change rings constantly or take the bar out.

Be careful, good luck :)

Ask if you need any more information.
