Question Posted Saturday July 19 2008, 10:15 pm

16/f.

Every now and then, my vagina starts itching REALLY bad on the inside where my hole is. And like if I scratch it, it starts burning really bad. It's not a STD or infection because I've already went to the doctors and all they do is give me antibiotics which never helps. But it was like that the other day which it gets like that every couple of weeks, well anyways I had sex and like it hurt when he first put it in but then it didnt until we were finished. Then it burned REALLY REALLY REALLY bad. So I guess it's not a good idea to have sex while my vagina is like this but has this ever happened to anyone else?

It could be a yeast infection. But since you said you used antibiotics, I doubt that's what it is.

I've had that before, where it itched on the inside, but it's never burned.
Do you shave? If so, try being more careful.

Otherwise, just lotion and wash it every day.

other types of advice:
use vagisil.

It could be cystitis, go back to your doctors.

It's also possible that you have a form of vaginitis (inflammation of the vagina). Bacteria and fungi (like yeast) grow in the vagina of all healthy woman, and as you suspect the balance of those microorganisms can be upset by changes in pH levels. Common forms of vaginitis include yeast infections and Bacterial vaginosis (BV). Vaginitis may make itself known through abnormal discharge, mild or severe itching or burning of the vulva, chafing of the thighs, or frequent urination.

hope i helped. let me know!
