Curly Hair

Question Posted Monday July 14 2008, 12:10 am

Sorry if this is under the wrong category.
Im 16/f and I have naturally curly hair. I have had it long almost all of my life, it was down to my waist when it was combed out wet before. About a month ago I got it cut short. Now it is kind of short in the back, since it was shaved pretty short when I first got it cut,and is about an inch and a half long everywhere else in a million curls. My hair has grown out a fair bit already. My curls are very tight normally, like corkscrews, my hair color is medium brown, and it is fairly thick naturally. I have dyed it a reddish-brown color before which I liked.
I am going to wait for it to grow out again, but only to my shoulders this time, since i do miss my long hair and being able to braid it and do the simple things I know.
My question is, what can I do with my hair to make it more stylish, unique, creative, just different. Im bored with the same old thing all the time, which is why i got it cut short in the first place. At the moment I cannot do much with my hair since it is short, but once I grow it back out in a few months I am hoping to have more styling ideas on what I can do. Or even now if anyone knows of a way to make my hair different while its short. It is long enough to put in little ponytails.
I havnt really been able to find any tips for curly haired people like myself anywhere. Please dont give tips on anything too simple that I already know.
Basically any styling, coloring, combing, decorating...anything...tips you can think of will help :) I am hoping to find a great stlye that suits curly hair and has personality. Thanks :D

Oh my gosh I know where you are right now my hair is short and al i want it to do is grow out!!! anyway mine is wavy so it's easier to straighten and such. yours is curly so it's probably hard to straighten.
well here are some things you can do....(all that i can think of)
1. straighten it
2. take the front pieces of your hair..about 2 inches wide of hair on each side. pull them up and brush them until neat and not bumpy...then pull on your head use small elastics (i use brace rubberbands..lol) or you could use a simple snap clip and almost pull it back into a half ponytail..that's what i call it. because it sits on the top of your head. it gives u a pretty look.
3. do the same thing as #2 but pull it back into a ponytail. it almost gives you a more full bouncy fun ponytail
4. do the same thing as #2 and do pig tails...great for the beach!
5. use a head band..thick probably and pull it back in your hair for a clean quick look
6. if you have long layers in the front you could side part your hair and pull it behind your ear..or infront and pin it with a pretty flower like pin

hope i helped!
