can't sleep

Question Posted Tuesday June 24 2008, 3:44 pm

17/f

For like the past month I have not been sleeping well at all. I'm up most of the night having hot flashes and joint pains. It's getting difficult for me to function during the day because of my lack of sleep. Do you think this is just something that will pass or should I talk to my doctor about it?

I use to have the same problem. The way I solved that problem is by taking a natrual sleep supplement called melatonin, it's natrual so you can't become dependant on it, if you aren't able to go and buy melationin you could also read before you go to bed, or drink warm milk. Try not to drink anything with caffine 4 hours before bed, that inclues chocolate milk, chocolate ice cream, hot chocolate, soda, coffe etc. For the hot flashes you should put a fan next to your bed, like on a table or something!

To be honest im always flat ou knackerd from dancing every night in my room to not be tired. Which you could try if you want to.
Ive heard somewhere that milk is supossed to help you sleep.
For the hot flashes keep water by your beside at night.
Also for the joint pains.. try lay on a hard floor every now and then for abotu 15 mins. and generally dfrink water during the day (WATER HELP EVERYTHING =D)
Youcould give streching a try to, try a few lunges or sumthing (depending on what joint hurts)
If it keeps carrying on after you feel youve tried EVERYTHING yes i would suggest going to your doctor.

Good luck!
