its not always the person that get the opposite partner as excited anymore. just because one may not get turned on as easy doesn't you make such as drastic thing to get back into it. basic sex can get old, yes very. but it's also about positions. excuse my language, but laying on your back all the time, isn't really interesting. tell your friend she should probably try like standing up, try him sitting on a chair. if she's flexible, there is a lot she can do, even while on her back. there is also strip teasing. get her to look up some kama sutra methods.
