sugarless gum? it seems like whenever i chew sugarless gum, i get really bad gas, and sometimes even diarrhea (gross, i know). i usually chew two pieces at a time if it's not in stick form, and i get a new piece more often that other people. am i allergic/intolerant of something in the gum? should i see a doctor about it or something?

On some sugar free products, it does state that an ingredient (mostly Phenylalanine) can cause "laxative effects" for some people.
It could be that you're eating too much. Chew one at a time and don't eat as much through out the day and see if it helps.
If you're cutting back and you're still having the same problem then yes, you could indeed be allergic to something in it, so stop and ask your doc if it's a cause for concern. ]
you might be allergic, and i'd say stop chewing it right now and go see a doctor. it may not be due to the gum chewing at all but just in case it is and youre making some kind of condition (god forbid) worse, stop for now and at least talk to a doctor over the phone about it. ]
