I'm sure you'd rather not come super made up while the other is really relaxed or something (or, if you actually would rather something like that happen--haha, that could help, too). Just casually say something like ,"Hey, just wondering but what are you wearing _____, I wasn't really sure of what to do.." Simple. (:
I'd reccomend to try to be comfortable, though. Don't worry at all about your shoes, since you'll be wearing bowling shoes (don't forget the socks, haha!), and I'd say to wear jeans since you'll be wearing bowling shoes. It'd look a little weird with a skirt or something..
That, and a nice top, possibly with some acessories should be perfect! Then just do what you'd usually do with hair/makeup. Just make sure you're casual and comfortable--guys would usually rather play around than sit and stare anyway. ;)

Don't stress too much over it because if you're the one who looks like you put in way too much effort, you'll get noticed, but for the wrong reasons. If you're the one who just looks casual and totally comfortable with yourself, you'll be noticed and envied for all of the right reasons! Your friends (and crush) will look at you like "wow she's cool for sure."
