what r calories?

Calories are a unit of measurement that measures energy. One calorie is the energy it takes to heat one gram of water by one degree C.

As you can imagine, this is a very tiny amount of energy. As a result, most of the time when you read labels on foods, they're actually measures in KCals, or Kilocalories, which are 1000 calories each.
