<3 love, pain, the whole crazy thing <3
Is it wrong to like a guy more...like this guy tyler has a girlfriend and all but he REALLY REALLY likes me and this kid was picking on him and beat tyler up on his birthday and threatened to pull out a knife on him and his older brother tj beat that kid up and got put into a detention center. I just want to be there and hold tyler, but i cant. I feel like crying and this kind of makes me want tyler more.. but i told my friend ariel and she was just like i wouldnt like him because of it, and i didnt know you were serious... but
1.)why does it make me want him more??
2.)why do i want to be there with him and hold him and just comfort him??
3.)Why am i hurt by this??

To be honest, I think many, many people have been in your situation where you want someone - but you just can't have them. It makes you want that person more - especially if they like you, too.
It's only right that you want to be there and comfort him, because you like him and he likes you too. It's in our nature to care for someone and want to be able to protect them when you feel for them.
Of course you're going to be hurt by this - but now I'm going to give you brutal honesty which you will either appreciate or hate:
If he seriously liked you and wanted to be with you - HE WOULD BE. He wouldn't be with his girlfriend, he would be with YOU, no doubt about it.
This is where you need to start thinking about yourself and being realistic. You can't wait forever for him. I know this isn't a question you asked but it's just something for you to think about.
Yes, you can be friends, but whilst he has a girlfriend, your friend is right - you should try to not like him. and find someone who likes you and wants to be with you.
but as far as the questions you did ask - the feelings you are experiencing are very normal. You just need to let him know if he doesn't want to be with you, you will move on, but still be his friend.
I hope this does make sense to you, because one of the worst things is wasting time on someone if they won't be with you.
