eyeliner on rims smudging

Question Posted Friday May 2 2008, 6:39 am

year-round, i wear simple black eyeliner on the rims of my eyes, but lately, due to my allergies, it has been smudging off underneath my eye (near my lashline). this is because i tear up when the wind blows or especially when i'm in contact with pollen.

typically, i would be okay with that because i can live without my eyeliner... EXCEPT when i have my allergies. because of them, the rims of my eyes are pink / red, and without my eyeliner, i look sickly as if though i have bloodshot eyes (which i do most of the time).

i reapply my eyeliner before 8th period (i have 9 periods) (my crush is in my 8th period class) and it looks fine again, but i was wondering...

question: are there any tricks that exist to prevent eye liner from smudging off of the RIMS of your eyes?

please do not tell me to just "apply the eyeliner along your lashline" because that's not what i want. i need my eyeliner on the rims of my eyes because they turn pink / red only because of my allergies. & don't tell me to go without eyeliner because it's "bad" for my eyes. it's not.

You can try putting a white eyeliner on rims of your eyes. That way if you eyes get watery and the eyeliner smudges, it won't be very noticeable, and the white eyeliner will still hide the redness (in fact will make your eyes appear bigger).

If you still want the black eyeliner look, you can get a waterproof eyeliner, except I wouldn't recommend wearing it on the rims of your eyes because its waterproof and might actually irritate them. So what you can do is put white eyeliner on your rims, and black waterproof liner on the lashline.

I would suggest maybe changing liners. Avon has a great liner called Perfect Wear Eyewriter liquid eye liner that is smudge proof, water proof, and lasts all day.

Also have waterproof mascara too.
