straightening gel

Everyone talks about using gel or spray when you straighten your hair, but what do you do with it? do you just spray your hair with it or what? and what spray do you recommend? thnxx so much =]

I use a gel by Bedhead Tigi, under the Catwalk line. It's called Fashionista and smells REALLY good! Just smooth it in your hair as you straighten in layers. Make sure you get all your roots, because they're most prone to damage.
