my films with movie maker

everytime that i record something on my camera, and then i save it to my computer, and then i upload the clip to movie maker, it just shows up as a black screen. not the computer screen, but teh video is black. it dosent show anything. how do i upload it to movie maker without it being black? and also, when its on media player, it also dosent play. but i think tahts just for music. i have a toshiba laptop with vista, if that helps. but what do i do??

have tried using codecs? I think your main problem is that the file type that your camera is using isnt surported or read by vista. Try downloading k-lite or the cccp-codec pack and see if it helps =]
