PSP DNS error

Question Posted Friday April 4 2008, 3:03 pm

Hey, it's me with the PSP problem. My connection test was successful but browsing the net isn't. I get this message saying: "Communication with the server failed. A DNS error has occurred. (8041040F)." I entered the addresses manually too:

IP Address: 192.168.1.69
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Router: 192.168.1.1
Primary DNS: 192.168.1.1
Seconday DNS: 71.243.0.12

I tried doing it the easy way letting everything be automatic but when I do, it gets an error saying that the IP Address can't be obtained because it timed out even though signal strength is 100%. And By the way I think I got the addresses from my Windows XP computer or from my Xbox 360. I have like 3 computers (Windows 98, Windows XP, and a Windows Vista lap top) When I scanned for connections, it detected the one that my lap top uses so does that mean i should use the lap top's IP address instead?

Go to start, run. Type:
cmd
and press enter. Then type:
ipconfig /all
and press enter. Copy the info it gives to your PSP.

If that doesn't work, use these for primary and secondary DNS:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

If it still doesn't work, try searching:
only search advicenators.com

There are a lot of people with the same problem.
