"titanic" movie
so, i have a few questions about the movie titanic...
does rose's mother not like jack, just because hes from third class, or because she knows that rose loves him and not cal?
why through out this whole movie, rose and her mother seem to be very upset and angry with eachother? even in the beginning of it?
why at the end did the old rose drop the diamond into the ocean?
theres an alternate ending to it, where mr. lovett finds out that the old rose still has the diamond, and he ask to see it, and she lets him hold it for a minute, then she drops it into the ocean, and then, the guy with the beard starts yelling at the old rose, and then mr. lovett( the guy who wants the diamond so bad) he starts laughing, and pointing at the guy with the beard. i dont understand why he laughs then.
haha, iknow its kinda long and confusing, but i just dont understand some of those parts.

1.) The reason she originally doesn't like him is because he's of the lower class. I'm sure that, eventually, Rose loving him is probably apart of it, too. Think about it though, why would she be upset that Rose loves him and not Cal? It all leads back to Jack being lower class.
2. Rose, even though it doesn't always seem like it, never 100% enjoyed the "rich" life and all of its benefits and such. Her mother and her just didn't agree on everything and never really saw eye to eye in most situations.
3. I think this is one of those open-ended opinion questions. I always believed that it was because the diamond represented Cal and her past life, the riches and stuff. It's kind of like if an old boyfriend gives you something that was really meaningful at the time, but then something big and bad happens. You're not going to keep it because, although you love the gift, it represents bad stuff.
4. I've never seen the alternate ending so I don't think I could help you with this one. He may have started laughing because he understands how much the people wanted it and he understands the adverse reactions that Rose has when the diamond comes up and how she "just had to" get rid of it. Once again, I've never seen the alternate ending, so I wouldn't know for sure.
