boyfriend and his bestfriend.

last year i was "talking" to this one guy named adam,[kind of a player] off and on. and we kissed and stuff but that was it. but the whole "talking" thing started in february and was off and on until june. in october he texted me and was like so, are you talking to brett[his bestfriend that had a crush on me but i didn't know it at the time, we had just been texting] and i said no. and then he asked if i wanted to talk to him, and i said i'd think about it because he has been known to be a player and i just didn't know how i felt about him anymore. a week later, brett asked me out. and i said yes because i had had a crush on a him since september. well anyways, its been five months since i started dating brett and i have two classes with him and two classes with adam. and adam sits with me and some other people at lunch. he always tries to sit infront of me, or walk with me to the lunch line, and always asks me for gum and talk about how we had a lot of fun last year and wants to give me high fives. and to be honest i didn't think he liked me or anything until brett said he thought adam was into me. and now that i've noticed that, i've been wanting him to come on to me. its like, i like when he talks to me, and on days when he misses first block, in my head i'm thinking "well i still hope he gets here for lunch" i don't know if i still like him or if i just like the attention. because don't get me wrong, i truly care about brett, i've never liked anyone the way i like him, and i think i'm in love with him, its just we've been fighting alot lately, and adam seems to cheer me up.
i just don't know what to do, or how i feel. can you please help me figure out what i can do? sorry its so long, and thanks for reading all of it, i'm just so confused.

Keep thinking that it's the attention you want, and it's not Adam you want. That's safer, because Brett is the guy you're going out with. But in case you and Brett ever break up, be sweet to Adam as a second choice. Almost every girl gets fought over by guys at least once, so it's nothing new. You might like Adam, but players are extremely competitive for girls, so Adam might just be feeling like he sort of lost you to his best friend and feels like he was inferior so he's trying to win you back. He might have some feelings for you, but he's a player so maybe it won't really last.
Be faithful to Brett, remember that. No one likes a cheater. So I think it's safe to keep Adam as a friend "with benefits," like as a backup boyfriend. And you like Brett, so stick to him, okay?
Maybe you don't even like Adam at all, and it's for the attention. So what?? Everyone likes attention, even when some people pretend they don't want any. It's OK to like Adam for attention as long as you don't totally go back on Brett.

I was kinda in the same situtation I like this guy and he had this bestfriend and I was into them both...
I just didnt wanna get confused... I mean you have to follow your heart you say you think you love this guy than go for your best interest. If you been arguing with the other guy lately lets see how it turns out. Talk to him about your problems and try to work them out. If it doesnt work out with you two end it... I say just go for what you think is right... If your still confused i say talk to them both see which entertains you and makes you happy more.... I get bored quick in realtionships so I let them both go. Plus i aint wanna get stuck in drama...
