It actually could be your period this happened to me and I went to the doctor and they told me that it was fine and just build up from like missed periods or build up of not haveing your period yet. if it goes on to long though get it checked out for your hormone levels and all that good stuff. :)

Okay, don't freak out.
That IS your period. Blood isn't always red - blood is brown when it's dried. When your period is light, it doesn't always flow, exactly, so it doesn't move fast enough to come out of you red. It dries in your body and turns brown. I'm 20, I've had my period for...eight years, and I still get that brown stuff when my periods are light.
Nothing is wrong with you.
Be happy. Good luck!

During the first few years, your period may not be consistent because your body is still adjusting. It could be your period but may just be slightly different because as I said, your body is adjusting. If it continues, consult your doctor or talk to your mom about it.
