Okay so you know how in the back of seventeen it says that if you text __ to __ you will recive ___. well i was wondering does this cost money?

yes! almost every one of those ads will cost you money. of course normal texting fees apply, but then they will charge you a few dollars to your cell phone bill to recieve a text back from them. read the FINE. FINE mini print! haha

if it does state that it costs a certain amount to text (which it usually does), it will be billed, reguardless to your plan.
