It depends on the gift card. There are cards existing which work for PP (I think simon giftcards, but am not sure about it) but others are denied by PP.
But one more thing: you can´t fund your own PP account with CC, even not a realy CC. You can only spend money using your CC. Account funding is only possible by bank wire or transfer from another account.
