Question Posted Monday February 25 2008, 10:19 pm

I really like this guy. I am pretty sure he likes me too. We always flirt with each other... and it seems like both of us go out of our way just to run into each other at school. He is always picking on me in a good natured way and we always have fun together. ... problem? he has a girlfriend that goes to a different school :( ... What is the appropriate thing to do in this situation. I know he has a girlfriend, and I should stay away... But I really LIKELIKELIKE this guy... Like if he gave me a chance I know I would fall like head over heals in love with him. i can tell he likes me too... ... but ugh I guess what would you do in my situation??

sounds to me lik hes a two timer, that always wants to have girl in his life. or it could just be that he just likes you as a really good friend, it's always good to have friends that are boys!

Think: is he *really* flirting back? If he has a girlfriend, maybe he's not, or maybe he's just one of those people who flirts with everyone. If you suspect there might be something there which means he'd be with you, it's your call, you can...

1. Carry on and go for it. He might leave this girl for you, and then you'd be all happy together and stuff. But consider - might he do the same to you? Leave you for another girl? His faithfullness might be an issue. Or, he might reject your advances and it would ruin your friendship and get you an enemy somewhere at another school.

2. Leave it be, at least until he's single again. This way is more frustrating and has no guarantee of happiness, but then again, neither does the other option. If he really does like you and would prefer to be with you than his girlfriend, he'll leave his girlfriend in good time.

Personally I'd leave it be, but based on how he treats you and how his relationship with this other girl is, going for it may well be the right thing to do.

i know this sounds bad, but you said "what would you do in my situation". well i would pretty much think, i dont know this girl, so she doesnt exist. ha. she goes to a different school. keep flirting with him. dont back off because of his girlfriend if you really like him. you dont know her so she will never bother you about it/ know about it. hopefully he will realize it is more convenient to have a girlfriend from his own school and dump this other girl =)
