bulimia

Question Posted Friday February 15 2008, 1:19 pm

15/f

i've been bulimic for a year as of november 2007 so a little over a year. what effects of that have/might have happened to me already? i never notice anything. i know it's not right but i don't know what to do and i don't really want to stop. i know it's wrong but and i know i don't think normally about food. i either don't eat some days or i eat so much i can't handle it and purge. well i do that with everything i eat basically. i don't know what to do. i just want to know what could happen to me and what already could've happened to me because of this?

thank you =]

okay, you HAVE to stop doing this. if you don't, your body has to go after something to keep you alive, and after the fat is gone, it starts to go after your organs and the tissues will deteriorate, and i mean all of them, not just one, and this includes the lungs, heart, and every other organ also. this is dangerous and please STOP.

you can grow excess hair, as this is your only body's defense after the fat is gone

you can experience heart problems and other heart related things such as irrgular heart beats

eventually, people drop out of school because they can't keep up

your skin begins to flake off

your organs won't function properly

you won't be as immune to disease

your hair will fall out in clumps

your nails will become brittle

this is only a FEW of what this disease can do to you. there are other things that can happen to you

This is by no means a complete list, but here are a few of the things that might have already or could happen in the future because of Bulimia:

Your teeth will rot because of stomach acid.

Your hair will get dull and brittle.

You could stop having your period (which extremely bad for you: get to a doctor if that happens).

Your skin will get dry and baggy like an old woman's.

Your bone mass will decrease, making you more vulnerable to osteoporosis later in life.

You will become ill in general because you aren't getting the nutrients you need.

Your boobs will get smaller along with the rest of you.

If you go on long enough, you absolutely will die. Your body just isn't meant to or able to survive without food.

I hope you decide to get help with quitting. :/ Good luck to you.
