i recently broke up with this guy. and about an hour after he broke up with me he went and asks another girl out. He was only my second boyfreind, so i dont know if this is common or not. Can you guys tell me some of your thoughts?

I think that he's one of those guys that can't go one day without a girlfriend. Don't worry, their more or less common one place or another. I have a friend (similar to your ex), who just recently broke up with his girlfriend and was already asking me if I knew any one who'd like to out with him. His exact words were: "So, I'm now looking for a girlfriend."
The point is, don't worry about him, you didn't seriously like him any ways, right? You shouldn't. Boys like him are a waste of your very valuable time.

Classic rebound situation. I'm not a guy so I don't know what's running through their head. My best guesses are they're trying to prove their desireability ("I could get any girl I want") or they're getting with another girl to make you mad/show off/jsut date someone else.
Either way, you broke up & he seems like a jerk, or at least immature. My ex did the same thing only it was a few days, hah. So try and forget about it =)
