Is downloading stuff for your sims game hurtful to the computer or the game? How can you tell if something is bad or not?

I'd reccomend to limit yourself to thesims2.com for downloads, however. When you rely on other sites, they tend to be less safe. Unfourtunately, you can't tell whether they're 'bad' or not, but if you stick to the generic/origional sims site, you should be okay. (They probably wouldn't upload something that would mess your computer up.)
The most it can really do is cause you computer to go slower. The more you download: the slower you game/computer will become, so remember to delete the stuff you're not using some time! :)

And unfortunately, you usually can't tell if it's bad, until after it happens.
