ski holidays (first ever ski holiday and no idea what to exp
ok so i really really want snowboarding... some were, to be honest i have no idea were i want to go so i'll just lay down some of the things that would make my holiday perfect :P
in order of around most wanted to not so much wanted but would nice to have
#1: tons upon tons of snow
#2: excellent scenary
#3: no busy ski lifts
#4: cheapish (something a job at Asda can buy :P)
#5: easy to get to from the UK
and any other good points to locations would be great please :D
aaaallsooo what could be the worst thing to happen on one of these holoidays? now i dont mean like broken legs (even though that is pretty bad) i mean like passport troubles or somthing of the sort

Alright, so you've never been skiing or snowboarding before? Let me go ahead and put here that skiing will be much easier to do. I would suggest renting your stuff one time for the whole week [or however long you plan to stay] because that will save you lots of time in the long run. I've been skiing in several different US states and in Canada, and I'd have to say that my experience in Canada was by far better than anywhere else.
My family and I stayed in a condo in/around Ontario and sled down one of the hills every night after we got done with skiing/snowboarding; I've snowmobiled and that was loads and loads of fun. When I stayed in New York it was kind of this quaint old town with lots of history and great shopping and we saw a movie at the local theatre.
Things to watch out for no matter where you go:
1. Take plenty of pain medicine. My brother's broken his tail bone twice on different ski trips, by falling down different places. (Once on a slope, once horsing around and fell on a stump in the snow.)
2. If you're going to a different country, make sure you look up the exchange rate so you'll have an idea of how much you're really spending on things.
3. Make sure your passport is good. If you don't have one, get one. You can get your picture taken just about anywhere, but after you send in your picture and application, it may take a while for it to come back. If you don't have a passport, call the airline you're using and ask if you can use your birth certificate.
4. Save, save, save your money until the day you leave on your vacation. There's nothing worse than going somewhere great and running out of cash for souveneirs.
5. Take lots and lots of pictures.
6. Use . No one on Advicenators can tell you where you want to go as well as you can.
