One Year.

Question Posted Friday January 18 2008, 11:56 pm

So my one year anniversary is coming up, and I have no idea what to get my boyfriend. I know he's getting me a ring, nothing huge.. but still nice. But.. what is the girl supposed to get the Guy!? I know I'm making him a card and I was going to buy him a bunch of his favorite candy and just put it all in a container or something.. but I feel like thats not enough? And I can't get him a whole lot because his birthday's coming up soon too!

I'm going through the same thing =P A week after our anniversary is his birthday. In between that is Valentines day haha.

Just figure out what he likes and put it all together. You could always take pictures together or if you have already, put it all together into an album or make a scrapbook. I was thinking of putting together some sort of sketchbook, with quotes, memories, inside jokes, doodles on the side, pictures, old movie tickets, little things that hold some sort of memory, etc. I'm sure he would love that.

I mean just look out for the type of guy he is. It's pretty easy if you're guy is an artist. Sketchbooks, art supplies, somethingsomething. If he's into movies then take him out or buy him 2-3 movies he wants. He's probably not a cologne or watch guy. You could always ask him what he wants. Movies, CDs, posters, Concert tickets, new shoes, skateboard, jeans, mp3 player, a coat/jacket, etc.

If you can't come up with a gift, come up with a date. Whether it's a romantic dinner night out and a movie, to a beach, etc. A possible trip in the future when the season is right?

You could go for a sentimental approach. If you're putting candy in a container then put a folded note added to one.. saying what you like about him, etc

For christmas I actually had to buy something for the first time. I'm sure he'll like a whole new outfit. I got him some tight jeans [show off his butt, yesss haha], one of his favorite bands tshirt, earrings and vans[favorite]

Just some ideas. :]

I'm planning to make something for my boyfriend because I'm low on cash. I'm going to make some sort of book for us. Also, we are going to get professional "couple" shoots done. I'm still trying to come up with something else.

For his birthday, I've decided to do something artsy.. maybe a couple of drawings, make him a scarf and take him out to a movie he wants to see, possibly get him a gift card somewhere..

I know guys like it when you make them things. If you're still stuck, try asking around his friends.

I totally know what you're going through! I never know what to get a guy! I get boxers, but that can get lame!

If you know his style, and size you can get him clothes. But then it's so hard, because if he doesn't like it he'll feel pressured to wear it.

If I were you i'd buy a nice pair of boxers (maybe from J. Crew), a pair of sox or pajama bottoms [the long kind], and cookie cake.

The cookie cake will be so good! You can open the gifts while eating it. The cookie cake is cheap, and that way you can share the gift too!

GOOOOODLUCK!:)
