those are some articles that really helped me- i wasn't able to wear high heels until last year, when i had to learn how to ballroom dance in them! it was crazy, but i got the hang of it from lots of practice- get some low heels and practice walking around your house. it's good to try to stand up very straight and pretend like there is a string coming out of the top of your head, attaching you to the ceiling (it's weird but it works). it's also good to pretend like you're balancing books on your head. try to roll your feet (heel-toe) and try not to put your whole foot down at the same time because it makes a loud stomping noise. good luck! :) [ uisforukelele's advice column | Ask uisforukelele A Question ]
TheAnnie answered Friday January 18 2008, 11:05 pm: i hate heels myslf and i have a hard time walking too
what i did was i started low, 1/2 inch heel, get comfotable with them and work up to it. wear heels that are not to thin first, develop your balance
over time you will get better
im still working on it too, but its better for me now, i can walk in them without falling :) [ TheAnnie's advice column | Ask TheAnnie A Question ]
orphans answered Friday January 18 2008, 10:57 pm: Okay, heel-toe, heel-toe. Don't stomp and what i did was practice on my carpet in my room, since it is cushiony and can hold your heel in, and then when I got good at walking on the carpet, I switched to hardwood floors and practiced there, and all you have to do is be graceful. Don't stomp your feet, and if it is your first time in heels, get the ones with straps for better support and then move onto no straps.
Practice makes perfect, just keep your balance and that's really all you can do.
Hope my technique works :]
